Virus!Papyrus was the very first thing Virus!Sans worked to bring back. 
For obvious reasons, Papyrus doesn't look as bad as his brother virus-infected wise. Least, not yet in this point in time. 

With lots of coding still missing, Papyrus can easily be seen as 'unstable' with parts of his physical form being incomplete and his powers difficult to use till his numeric values are more complete. The only thing keeping him from collapsing all together is his soul which can be seen as the color of his broken code. There may be a lot missing from him, but he is still complete enough to function as himself, and that is the greatest mile-stone to Virus!Sans thus far. It's a great sign of hope that everything he was doing was all for not. 

Not being as powerful as his brother, Papyrus usually stays behind to not only continue to heal but to also gather up the random codings that are what's left of their old home--he trying to figure how he too could help with the process even though he doesn't know what numeric sequence does what. Least he would have a lot of extra values for Sans to use when he returns from his departures to other verses. They are currently working on rebuilding Snowdin, their home in particular so they have somewhere to call home once more.

I was originally going to put CyberCore!Papyrus to the side of Virus!Pap but it got pretty big with just one of them--so I decided to separate the two after all. xD;
